Flu Guidelines

Bay Area schools are reporting many confirmed cases of H1N1 flu -- several cases have been confirmed among our school community. Please see the important document links in the right margin.

Apostles and the Santa Clara County Public Health Deparment are following the guidelines below:

-- Keep students with a fever home until the fever has subsided for 24hrs without the aid of medicine.

-- Keep students with flu like symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny nose, fever, chills, fatigue, body aches, headaches) home until the symptoms have subsided for 24hrs without the aid of medicine.

-- See a doctor if fever persists for more than three days, your child is more ill than expected, symptoms continue after taking OTC medicine, or if there is a pre-existing condition.

-- Go to the ER if your child experiences difficulty breathing, dehydrated, continued vomiting, seizures, not waking or interacting, overly irritable, and/or if symptoms improve but then return with worse fever and cough.

-- Call 911 if your child experiences bluish or gray skin color.
